That concludes our protection of the incident following a lorry fireplace on the M26 which left a portion of the carriageway closed for greater than six hours.
The closure sparked delays on each the M25 and M26.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service had been on the scene to extinguish the fireplace, and National Highways Traffic Officers had been in attendance to help with visitors administration.
National Highways warned that extreme delays would stay following the reopening of the highway with congestion stretching for miles.
