Two months after President Jimmy Carter fulfilled his last want of voting for Kamala Harris, Harris delivered a shifting eulogy for the previous commander in chief.

The vp paid tribute to Carter throughout his mendacity in state ceremony on the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, in a speech remembering the late chief’s sincerity and dedication to serving others.

“Jimmy Carter was that all too rare example of a gifted man who also walks with humility, modesty and grace,” she mentioned of the politician, who died on the age of 100 in late December.

Harris celebrated Carter as a “president who was ahead of his time,” as she remarked on his dedication to the setting, public training, worldwide diplomacy, human rights and extra.

“Throughout his life and career, Jimmy Carter retained a fundamental decency and humility,” the vp mentioned.

“James Earl Carter Jr. loved our country. He lived his faith, he served the people and he left the world better than he found it,” she continued. “And in the end, Jimmy Carter’s work and those works speak for him louder than any tribute we can offer.

“May his life be a lesson for the ages and a beacon for the future,” Harris concluded.

Prior to his passing, the previous president was an ardent supporter of Harris throughout her bid for the Oval Office.

In August, the Nobel Prize winner even reportedly instructed his household he was much less involved about reaching his one hundredth birthday than “trying to make it” lengthy sufficient to vote for Harris.
