In the Netherlands, drug crime leaves a poisonous path on the setting

For years now, Dutch authorities have been frequently dismantling unlawful drug labs producing amphetamines, ecstasy and cocaine – typically hidden away in distant, rural areas. But one of many lesser-known penalties of this unlawful business is the extreme environmental air pollution it leaves behind. Barrels full of hazardous substances are often dumped in forests, fields and even protected nature reserves. Last 12 months alone, 217 unlawful dumping websites had been found throughout the nation.
