Air visitors within the United States will likely be decreased “almost to zero” because of the shutdown, the blockage of administrative actions that happens within the United States each time Congress fails to approve the finances regulation. The American Transportation Secretary, Sean Duffy, stated this in an interview with CNN. “Air traffic is going to be slowed down a lot as everyone wants to travel to see their families” forward of the Thanksgiving vacation that begins in two weeks, Duffy informed Fox News.
“We will see only a few air visitors controllers reporting to work, which suggests there will likely be few flights departing and arriving. There will likely be monumental disruption and plenty of indignant Americans.”
The Trump Administration has ordered the reduction of flights at 40 airports to ease the workload of air traffic controllers who work without pay. Many public employees, including essential airport staff, are serving without pay or on forced leave at home, waiting for the political stalemate between Republicans and Democrats to end.
