LThe bubble has burst for good. And the final nail within the coffin of the Angoulême International Comic Strip Festival (FIBD) has simply been planted this morning: the mayor of Angoulême, Xavier Bonnefont, alongside the prefect Jérôme Harnois, the regional president Alain Rousset and the president of the division Jérôme Sourisseau, confirmed, throughout a press convention held from the city corridor, the cancellation of the FIBD 2026, initially scheduled between January 29 to 1er FEBRUARY. This is the second time, since its creation in 1974, that the competition is not going to happen within the flesh and in public, after the closed-door version of 2021, within the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
