“We’ve had hundreds and hundreds, if not, you know, closer to 1,000 threats,” Slotkin, one of many six Democrats featured in a video that provoked Trump’s ire, instructed NBC News’s Ryan Nobles.
“The Sergeant of Arms arranged for us to have 24/7 security, and that’s because the threat level just went through the roof,” Slotkin instructed Nobles.
Democratic leaders condemned the president’s statements for his or her incendiary nature and for probably endangering the lawmakers.
“Donald Trump must immediately delete these unhinged social media posts and recant his violent rhetoric before he gets someone killed,” Jeffries, Democratic whip Katherine Clark (D-Mass.) and Democratic caucus chair Pete Aguilar (D-Calif.) wrote in a joint assertion.
The White House didn’t instantly reply to a request for remark concerning the inflow of threats Slotkin described.
