Eight drawings by the French painter Henri Matisse had been stolen from the Sao Paulo library, together with 5 by the Brazilian painter Candido Portinati. This was reported by the municipal authorities. As regards Matisse’s works, there could be eight engravings.
According to native media, two armed males entered the Mario de Andrade library and fled with the artworks.
