Starmer plots final Brexit betrayal at hand swathes of energy again to EU | Politics | News | EUROtoday

Keir Starmer is making ready to explode Britain’s newly-found democratic sovereignty to resolve its personal legal guidelines, with a purpose to decide a struggle with Nigel Farage.

The Prime Minister is reportedly planning model new laws that may return swathes of key decision-making powers again to Brussels as a part of his ideological campaign to quietly reverse Brexit.

The new laws is ready to provide the EU the only real proper to change large areas of British regulation equivalent to meals requirements, animal welfare and the surroundings.

However in contrast to beforehand, as a member state of the EU, Britain will now not have any capacity to affect the legal guidelines and purple tape handed by Brussels’ bureaucrats.

The transfer is ready to spark additional accusations that Keir Starmer is undemocratically reversing the 2016 referendum outcome, with no mandate to take action.

Earlier this week Sir Keir Starmer lastly admitted that he’s ready to get nearer to the EU’s Single Market.

While Labour’s 2024 election manifesto promissed “no return to the single market, the customs union or freedom of movement”, speaking on Laura Kuenssberg’s show on Sunday, Sir Keir said: “I believe we should always get nearer, and if it’s in our nationwide curiosity to have even nearer alignment with the only market, then we should always think about that, we should always go that far.”

“I think it’s in our national interest to go further.

“What I would say about the customs union is that I argued for a customs union for many years with the EU, but a lot of water has now gone under the bridge.

“I do understand why people are saying ‘wouldn’t it be better to go to the customs union?’ I actually think that now we’ve done deals with the US which are in our national interest, now we’ve done deals with India which are in our national interest, we are better looking to the single market rather than the customs union for our further alignment.”

This evening ministers insisted that the plans to hand Brussels huge powers over the British way of life would make little overall difference, as many manufacturers are already compliant with EU law in order to export to the continent.

However it would lessen the need for expensive and time-consuming paperwork for businesses and farmers who wish to export to the EU.

Labour has said it is “very glad to have the struggle” over the Brexit culture war with Reform UK, in the hope to brings deserting left-wing voters back into Labour’s folds and away from the Greens and Jeremy Corbyn’s Your Party.

Responding to the PM’s comments on Sunday, Reform UK deputy Richard Tice blasted: “This die-hard Remainer Prime Minister, surrounded by a cupboard of fellow remainers, is hell-bent on bringing Britain again into Brussels’ orbit by any means essential.

“Closer alignment with the single market means handing over our hard-won sovereignty and accepting freedom of movement. That would shatter yet another Labour election pledge and betray the millions who voted to take back control of our borders. Why would we want to get closer to a failing EU economic model where Germany is in recession”
