MS NOW host Nicolle Wallace tore into podcaster Joe Rogan on Wednesday for saying on his present that he can see “both perspectives” surrounding President Donald Trump’s hard-line immigration agenda.
The “Deadline: White House” host invited MS NOW senior contributing editor Michele Norris and Media Matters president Angelo Carusone on her present to debate this.
Norris predicted that Trump goes to lose some Republican assist as a partial results of “the horrors” in Minnesota involving U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers, considered one of whom not too long ago shot and killed 37-year-old Minneapolis resident Renee Nicole Good.
The federal presence in Minnesota runs “counter to a bedrock conservative value” of states’ rights, Norris mentioned, at the least for these conservatives who seem to have modified their stance in regards to the Trump administration.
“Joe Rogan is the one who compares that conduct to the Gestapo, asking for people’s papers,” mentioned Wallace.
But she clarified: “I’m not ready to call him someone who is sort of marching in lockstep with the protesters, because it is the most ‘both sides’ BS that I’ve heard come out of his mouth.”
To illustrate her level, Wallace went on to play a clip from Tuesday’s version of the “Joe Rogan Experience.”
Speaking to the upheaval in Minnesota, Rogan remarked on his present, “I see both perspectives. I see the perspective of the people that say, hey, there was an illegal program moving people in here to get votes, moving people in here to get congressional seats, and we’ve got to change that.”
But he ultimately conceded: “I can also see the point of view of the people who say yeah, but you don’t want militarized people in the streets just roaming around, snatching people up, many of which turn out to actually be U.S. citizens, they just don’t have their papers on them.”
He later requested, “Are we really going to be the Gestapo … Is that what we’ve come to?”
Frequent Rogan visitor and former Trump acolyte Elon Musk has lengthy espoused the conspiracy principle that Democrats are flooding the nation with immigrants below a quid-pro-quo settlement that enables them to stay within the U.S. if they comply with vote for the Democratic Party.
Wallace argued Rogan “is smarter than that” and is aware of that “the first thing he said is BS.”
“There’s no evidence” of an unlawful program bringing foreigners into the U.S. to vote for Democrats, she famous.
But Carusone identified that Rogan has been pushing this falsehood “for a while.” He continued, “And every time Musk goes on his show, that’s what they talk about.”
“I mean, what he’s sort of giving a nod to there is Great Replacement Theory, that somehow Democrats and others are importing all these immigrants so that they can control the country forever and replace white people,” he mentioned.
Carusone added that Rogan is “a bit of a weathervane. He sort of shows where the wind’s blowing.”
As her visitor elaborated, Wallace interrupted to state, “But can I just say how lame that is? He’s now for the Great Replacement Theory and calling the ICE ‘Gestapo.’”
Rogan endorsed Trump within the 2024 election. Wallace not too long ago mentioned she hopes the podcaster “cringes” at his previous glowing remarks about Trump.
