A person has been charged with homicide over the demise of a girl in Georgia, who was fatally shot as she tried to confront burglars breaking into her dwelling.

Marquel Heard, 33, was arrested in Birmingham, Alabama, on Thursday, virtually 4 months after the killing in DeKalb County.
