Deutsche Bahn’s resolution to buy electrical buses from the Chinese producer BYD as half of a big order has met with sharp criticism within the Union. The transport coverage spokesman, Björn Simon (CDU), describes the procurement as “very critical” “from an industrial policy perspective, but also with a view to possible risks from software-based remote access”.
He expects that such an task won’t be repeated. “I have already made this clear personally to the railway boss, Ms. Evelyn Palla,” explains the CDU politician to WELT AM SONNTAG.
Deutsche Bahn introduced in December that it might procure greater than 3,000 new electrical and hybrid buses by means of framework agreements, round 200 of them from BYD.
