David Beckham has spoken publicly for the primary time since Brooklyn shared a bombshell assertion tearing into his dad and mom.

Speaking with CNBC’s Squawk Box on Tuesday (20 January), David didn’t identify Brooklyn or refer particularly to the controversy, however he mirrored on the “mistakes” made by his youngsters throughout a dialog about social media – and instructed they need to use their platform for positivity.

“You have to let your children make mistakes,” he stated. “They make mistakes, but children are allowed to make mistakes. That is how they learn. That is what I try to teach my kids – you sometimes have to let them make those mistakes as well.”

Brooklyn claimed that his family ”values public promotion and endorsements above all else” and alleged that his dad and mom measure love on “how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it’s at the expense of our professional obligations”.

Among Brooklyn’s most striking claims is the suggestion that his mum Victoria “repeatedly invited women from my past in ways that were clearly intended to make” him and wife Nicola Pelts feel “uncomfortable”.

While nobody is named, Brooklyn has been linked to actors Chloë Grace Moretz and Lexi Wood, singers Madison Beer and Lexy Panterra and models Hana Cross, Sonia Ben Ammar and Lottie Moss.

“They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because when the terms of the deal would be initiated,” he wrote. “My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since.”

Brooklyn Beckham is believed to have sent his parents Victoria and David a cease and desist letter warning they could only contact him via his lawyers.

It also reportedly blocked them from tagging him on social media, with sources telling the Mirror: “It had been leading to issues with his mental health… it was to protect himself.”
