A cat proprietor has accused a supply driver of overtly strolling as much as his entrance door and taking away his cat.
Cat proprietor Carl Crowther spoke to Yorkshire Live concerning the incident and likewise shared doorbell footage. The video exhibits a supply driver strolling as much as the entrance door of his home in Elland, close to Halifax, scooping up a cat together with his arms, turning round, and overtly strolling down the drive and onto the road earlier than the cat is allegedly put within the supply driver’s automobile.
The supply driver, who was working for Amazon on the time, “took a shine” to Carl’s cat, Nora, at round 2.30pm on Sunday (January 18) afternoon. Carl stated he has offered further footage and footage to Amazon and West Yorkshire Police.
He advised YorkshireLive:”As a family, we were really worried as she always stays very close to home. This morning, after she’d been missing since yesterday lunch, for some reason I looked at the cameras to see if she’d been about over the late afternoon/evening. We were devastated when we saw the driver lingering about waiting to seize his opportunity.
“It was whole shock and disbelief when he picked her up and shoved her into his automotive. This was additionally seen from my neighbour’s digital camera. Poor factor is on medicine and has a coronary heart murmur.”
Carl said Amazon has offered him money, which “is not any good at this stage”. A spokesperson for Amazon said this was not the case and said Carl has been referred to insurance protocol instead. Amazon is investigating the incident and has been in direct contact with Carl and the police. The delivery driver is not directly employed by Amazon but by a subsidiary.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: “Police acquired a report of a cat being stolen from exterior a property on Park Avenue, Elland at round 2.30pm on Monday, January 19. A criminal offense of theft has been recorded and enquiries stay ongoing.”
