French deputies voted unanimously on Wednesday to ratify in regulation the absence of any “conjugal duty” inside marriage. The textual content clarifies within the civil code that cohabitation doesn’t create any obligation for spouses to have sexual relations. The Senate should now resolve. The European Court of Human Rights condemned France on this topic in January 2025.
