A metropolis centre bar chain has been pressured to shut because of “unforeseen” circumstances, with future bookings cancelled. Point Blank Group stated late on Tuesday (February 3) that Point Blank Shooting “with a heavy heart” had entered liquidation.
The firm operated branches in Newgate Street, Newcastle, Cloth Hall Street, Leedsand Deansgate in Manchester. Point Blank Shooting hailed itself because the UK’s first simulated taking pictures vary bar and kitchen. Punters would fireplace at ranges displayed on screens utilizing duplicate weapons.
An announcement on Point Blank Group’s web site reads: “It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Point Blank Shooting has entered liquidation.
“This state of affairs was utterly unexpected and past our management. Due to our Manchester landlord coming into administration, our lease was misplaced…This had a critical knock-on impact throughout the broader enterprise, leaving us with no different choice”.
The team behind the business added in their statement: “After seven unimaginable years of buying and selling, it is a devastating second for everybody at Point Blank”.
Point Blank Group urged anyone with a booking to be patient as they try and sort the issues out. Events at the firm’s venues were being advertised as recently as late January.
Its Leeds branch on January 28 and 30 was promoting its happy hour, bottomless brunch and £10 sessions along with a Superbowl event scheduled for this Sunday (February 8).
Newcastle’s Chronicle newspaper reported that the closure had been “out of the blue” for both the business and customers, adding bookings had been cancelled.
Point Blank Group’s statement ended: “Thank you to everybody who has supported us through the years. Hopefully, it is a so long, not a goodbye”.
Point Blank Newcastle opened in August 2020 throughout the Covid pandemic, in line with the Chronicle. It went on to grow to be a well-liked spot for stag and hen events, work nights out and birthdays.
