The Trump administration’s posting — and subsequent deletion — of two controversial social media messages in current days prompted an uncomfortable query for White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt throughout Tuesday’s briefing.
A reporter requested Leavitt a couple of racist video shared by President Donald Trump and a separate put up by Vice President JD Vance. Both have been later taken down.
Watch from the 15:30 level right here:
Vance’s deleted put up, made throughout a visit to Armenia, appeared to acknowledge the Armenian genocide. But that place is at odds with the Trump administration’s official line.
Both posts have been initially blamed on staffers. Trump later mentioned he had permitted the put up concerning the Obamas earlier than it was revealed, although he claimed he had not seen the extremely offensive second.
“Does the White House have a social media problem at the moment?” the journalist requested Leavitt, including: “Do you have an autoposting problem that’s leading to these mistakes?”
“No,” Leavitt replied.
The press secretary didn’t handle Trump’s put up concerning the Obamas.
“As for the Armenian tweet that you’re referring to,” she mentioned. “I would just refer you back to the White House’s message that was issued on Armenian Remembrance Day. And there’s been no change of policy at this time.”
