A “kind and caring” major college trainer choked to loss of life on her personal vomit after binging alcohol and cocaine, an inquest heard. Family and associates paid heat tributes to Emily Rose Browning, describing her as a “kind, caring, and beautiful young lady” who liked her job.

Ms Browning had been on an evening out with associates throughout which she drank closely and took the Class A drug in December 2024. Coroner Graeme Hughes stated Emily had been socialising with associates at residence earlier than heading into Cardiff metropolis centre on December 7, 2024. He stated: “During this time, she has consumed alcohol and cocaine.

“She grew to become intermittently unwell, and associates did have some considerations for her welfare.

“She and her boyfriend returned home, and she went to bed. After he returned home a short while later, she was found on the floor of the bedroom.”

Mr Hughes stated it was doubtless Emily had aspirated vomit and was taken to the University Hospital of Wales, the place she died on December 10.

Mr Hughes recorded a conclusion of alcohol and drug-related loss of life, saying she doubtless died because of the “intoxicating effects of alcohol and illicit drug use, leading to aspiration of vomit, cardiac arrest and a devastating hypoxic brain injury”.

Emily, of Somerset, had settled in Cardiff, having gained a criminology diploma and a grasp’s in psychology earlier than embarking on her instructing profession.

The college in Heath, Cardiff, deliberate to construct a memorial backyard for Emily and “create a space that embodies the warmth and compassion Emily shared with us every day.”

“To honour her memory, we are going to create a memorial garden.

“This backyard can be an area for reflection, pleasure, and growth-a place the place kids can study by means of out of doors experiences, and discover peace and inspiration. It will mirror Emily’s values of nurturing curiosity, creativity, and well-being in each learner.”

Her boyfriend Jack Weston launched a fundraiser to meet the costs of the garden with dozens of friends signing up to take part in events.
