Tommy Tuberville’s Trump-Flattering Presidents Day Pitch Goes Awry | EUROtoday

Sen. Tommy Tuberville’s bid to rebrand Presidents Day — in honor of President Donald Trump — shortly backfired.

The Alabama Republican on Monday shared on X a picture of Mount Rushmore with Trump’s face digitally added.

He wrote: “As we reflect on our nation’s greatest presidents, it’s hard to think of a President who has been more influential in modern history than President Trump. Petition to rename today as ‘President Donald J. Trump Day’?”

The put up drew swift ridicule, with critics calling Tuberville — who’s operating for governor of Alabama and shared it through his marketing campaign feed — embarrassing and worse.

Trump and his allies have ceaselessly mused about having his likeness added to the monument in South Dakota’s Black Hills, regardless of consultants’ issues it might not assist the addition of one other sculpture.
