Recap: General Assembly backs name for lasting peace
Meeting in an emergency particular session on Ukraine, the UN General Assembly this morning adopted a decision titled “Support for lasting peace in Ukraine”, calling for a direct, full and unconditional ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.
The textual content reaffirmed the Assembly’s dedication to Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and referred to as for a complete, simply and lasting peace in keeping with the UN Charter, the change of prisoners of warfare and the return of civilians forcibly transferred, together with kids.
The decision was adopted by 107 votes in favour, 12 towards and 51 abstentions.
