Germany: inflation slows to 1.9% in February, +0.2% on the month | EUROtoday

Inflation in Germany slowed to 1.9% yearly in February, after 2.1% in January. This was reported by Destatis, the federal statistics workplace. According to the primary studying, the buyer value index recorded a +0.2% over the month.

The harmonized index, in line with preliminary information, recorded +0.4% on the month and +2% on the 12 months in February. Expectations for harmonized inflation have been for +0.5% on the month and +2.1% on the 12 months.

In February, inflation in Germany slowed to 1.9% from 2.1% in January on an annual foundation. This is estimated by Destatis, the German Federal Statistical Office. On a month-to-month foundation, inflation elevated by 0.2%. The underlying inflation charge, excluding meals and power, is predicted to face at +2.5% in February 2026.
