A MAGA senator has a request for his fellow lawmakers: Please thank President Donald Trump for his latest assaults on Iran.
During a listening to on nationwide protection technique, most have been targeted on the subsequent steps of the U.S. army operation towards Iran, but Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.) as a substitute noticed a possibility to reward his fearless chief.
Although Trump is being criticized for, on the very least, complicated messaging on the aim of the army actions towards Iran, the Oklahoma Republican is extra involved that the president is just not getting recognition for his management.
On Tuesday, Mullin lashed out at his colleagues for not appreciating Trump.
Mullin began by noting that the Constitution gives the president powers to defend the nation, claiming there’s “no question” that’s what Trump is currently doing with Iran.
“Do you think we should let the Ayatollah in place? Do you think he was a good guy? Are you defending the Ayatollah now?” Mullin asked rhetorically. “Or aren’t you glad that America finally stood up and took care of this murderous regime that’s been sponsoring terror around the world for 47 years.”
Mullin then suggested lawmakers should take a different approach toward the administration’s handling of Iran.
“How about we say, ‘Thank you, Mr. President, for finally getting rid of this nuisance, this murderer, this sponsor of terror.’ He did the world a favor, and the world is a safer place because of it. … I think we should say, ‘Thank you. Thank you for being a strong leader.’”
Mullin’s desperate request to praise Trump is just the latest in a string of recent moments that have gone viral for the senator.
On Monday, Mullin was mocked by a progressive veterans group after he defended Trump’s Iran strikes with a vivid description about “the smell of war” ― despite never serving in the military.
Last week, before Saturday’s strikes, Mullin tried to promote Trump’s claims that a war with Iran might be necessary because the country is “obviously trying to rebuild” their nuclear weapons facilities ― even though the administration announced just last year the country’s nuclear facilities had been “obliterated.”
