“Meet James Talarico, Texas’ Democrat nominee for U.S. Senate,” wrote the X account Senate Republicans, whose NRSC mission is to maintain the GOP majority within the higher chamber. “He thinks ‘God is nonbinary.’”
“God is both masculine and feminine and everything in between,” he mentioned. “God is nonbinary.”
The posted clip tried to set off some conservatives who would possibly adhere to a strict interpretation of the biblical phrase, “So God created man in his own image,” or cite the repetition of “He” and “Father” in scripture to explain God.
Talarico continues to be awaiting an opponent as a result of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and incumbent Sen. John Cornyn are headed to a runoff as neither secured sufficient votes on Tuesday.
But whoever wins is more likely to go after Talarico’s spiritual beliefs. Cornyn already has. Talarico, a state consultant, has interpreted the Bible as an upholder of abortion rights and mentioned that Christianity “points to the truth” as do different religions.
