The far-right collective Némésis introduced on Thursday March 5 that it could not take part within the Paris demonstration on March 8, on the event of International Women’s Rights Day. He will as an alternative manage his personal rally, within the 16e borough, after feminist organizations and unions demanded a ban on his presence within the procession.
“For March 8, 2026, the Némésis collective is organizing a tribute to the victims, replacing its usual procession in the demonstration [du mouvement féministe] All of us »explained its president, Alice Cordier, in a message sent to Agence France-Presse.
Yesterday, the Paris police headquarters received associations which had requested, in a letter addressed to the Minister of the Interior Laurent Nuñez, last Thursday, a ban on this identity collective from participating in the demonstration. According to the minister’s entourage, the discussions led to this ” solution “ Who “suitable for everyone”.
The signatories of this letter – the CGT, the CFDT, the Unsa, Solidaires, the FSU, Family Planning and Dare Feminism – had burdened that, for a number of years, the demonstrations organized for March 8 have been “disturbed by the participation of Nemesis”.
“Not safe” from intrusions
The Dare Feminism collective denounced, on Thursday, “the repeated intrusions of Nemesis activists into rallies, demonstrations and feminist events”their “acquaintances with small identity groups” and one “instrumentalization of feminist discourse for racist purposes” which is, in accordance with the group, “the definition of femonationalism”.
“We remain cautious”confided Suzy Rojtman, spokesperson for the National Collective for Women’s Rights (CNDF), which is likely one of the organizers of Sunday’s Parisian demonstration. “We are not safe from other groups of the same type (…) want to approach our demonstrations. We want to be able to demonstrate on our own slogans and values”she added.
On February 14, in Lyon, far-right activist Quentin Deranque, aged 23, died after being violently overwhelmed by members of antifa teams. He had come to make sure the safety of activists from Némésis, who have been demonstrating in opposition to the arrival of Insoumise MEP Rima Hassan, for a convention at Sciences Po Lyon.
