Lord Peter Mandelson has been launched from his bail circumstances however stays below investigation, the Metropolitan Police have mentioned.
Lord Mandelson was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public workplace final month after police acquired a tip off from Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle that he was a flight danger.
The former Labour peer was later launched on bail and his lawyer denied the allegations.
The Metropolitan Police have now confirmed his bail circumstances have been dropped and he has as a substitute been launched below investigation.
A Met spokesperson mentioned: “A 72-year-old man arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office has been released under investigation.
“The investigation remains ongoing.”
Lord Mandelson was sacked because the UK’s ambassador to the US final 12 months, after which resigned from the Labour Party and the House of Lords earlier this month when contemporary emails surfaced within the newest tranche of the so-called Epstein information within the US.
