US President Donald Trump says he is weighing lifting oil sanctions in an effort to maintain power costs down, in a transfer that’s seen benefiting Russia and its financing of the conflict in Ukraine. Speaking with FRANCE 24’s Mark Owen, Sergey Vakulenko, Senior Fellow on the Carnegie Russia Eurasia Centre, explains that sanctions have carried out little up to now to stem oil exports, however a crude scarcity is more likely to spice up Russian power gross sales overseas.
