Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) on Tuesday apologized for what was probably the U.S. bombing of an Iranian women faculty that killed 175 individuals. (Watch the video beneath.)
President Donald Trump blamed Iran for the assault on the Shajarah Tayyebeh faculty in Minab at first of the warfare. He later steered it was Iran, “or somebody else,” as a result of the Tomahawk missile reportedly used is “very generic.”
CNN host Kasie Hunt of “The Arena” requested Kennedy why he’s apologizing and admitting it was in all probability a U.S. “mistake.”
“I think it’s the truth,” Kennedy mentioned. “I mean, we’re investigating, but I’m not gonna hide behind that. I think that it was a terrible, terrible mistake. The investigation may prove me wrong; I hope so. The kids are still dead. But I think was a horrible, horrible mistake.”
He continued, “I wish it hadn’t happened. I’m sorry it happened. I can assure you it wasn’t intentional. That’s the sort of thing Russia does. We don’t do that. You know, I don’t see any other possible explanation. And when you make a mistake, you ought to admit it. Most people understand no one’s perfect, but I don’t think our men and women who are fighting for us did it intentionally. I’ll never believe that.”
Multiple studies, together with one which cited U.S. army investigators, implicate the U.S. within the assault on the college, which was subsequent to an Iranian naval base.
“There’s no evidence that the Iranians fired anything at the school,” mentioned Fox News nationwide safety correspondent Jennifer Griffin, who added that the president “knows” the U.S. was behind it.
