A girl has been arrested on suspicion of homicide after an 18-day-old child died in central London.
The Metropolitan Police mentioned the toddler lady died after falling from a residential property.
Officers have been referred to as to Horseferry Road in Westminster after the incident on Saturday morning.
The child lady was taken to hospital, the place she was pronounced lifeless.
The power mentioned {that a} 43-year-old lady was arrested on the scene on suspicion of homicide and brought into police custody.
“Our thoughts today are with the baby’s family,” Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell mentioned.
“The death of an infant is always an extremely tragic occurrence, and officers are making urgent inquiries around the circumstances.
“At this stage, we believe the incident occurred within a domestic context, but we are appealing for anybody with information to come forward.”
A police cordon erected after the incident was reported to be guarded by uniformed officers on Saturday night.
The cordon coated most of Great Peter Street, which is simply off Horseferry Road.
An officer in a blue forensics swimsuit was seen in a gray van parked partway down the street, which was closed to visitors.
Passers-by have been diverted across the taped cordon.
