A Missouri mother has shared her horror after discovering fentanyl contained in the packaging of a Barbie doll — as police recovered 5 comparable dolls within the space.

Jade Adams bought considered one of 5 Barbie dolls bought at Cargo Largo, a reduction retailer in Independence, about 10 miles east of Kansas City, that authorities say had a suspicious powder hidden contained in the packaging.

Adams advised WDAF she and her husband have been shocked when the powder exploded after they opened the toy of their automotive.

Adams stated her mother returned to the shop to warn employees of the harmful drug she had discovered connected to the doll.

“She went to Cargo Largo and was like, ‘You need to get these Barbies; you need to get all these Barbies,” Adams said. “So, they filled a whole cart up of these Barbies and took them to security and were like, ‘You need to check all of these Barbies.’”

The Independence Police Department took to Facebook on Saturday to warn native customers concerning the impacted Barbies — and alert people who they have been on the hunt for 5 impacted dolls.

After employees on the retailer have been notified concerning the suspicious powder, they known as the police, who decided that the substance was fentanyl.

It was decided that 5 Barbie dolls with fentanyl contained in the packaging had been bought, police stated.

However, the entire impacted Barbie dolls have been recovered inside a matter of hours.

The investigation “revealed the Barbie Dolls themselves were not compromised. Fentanyl was discovered taped inside the back packaging of the dolls,” police stated in an replace.

“There is no reason to believe compromised units were sent to other retailers and no injuries have been reported,” the police added of their replace.
