Donald Trump on Sunday signaled that he deserves one other prize: a so-called “reward” within the type of a 3rd presidential time period.
In a publish on his Truth Social platform, he shared a person’s picture of him with the caption, “3RD TERM FOR TRUMP AS A REWARD FROM STOLEN ELECTION.” The picture seems to be a nod to the president’s false claims surrounding the 2020 election. Those identical claims served as a beat his supporters marched to as they stormed the U.S. Capitol through the violent Jan. 6, 2021, revolt.
Trump’s latest publish marks the most recent occasion that he’s overtly toyed with operating for a 3rd time period, which is barred below the Constitution’s twenty second Amendment. But the legislation hasn’t stopped the president from promoting “Trump 2028” merchandise, nor has it barred him from speaking about in search of a 3rd, or perhaps a fourth, time period.
“A lot of people want me to do it,” Trump advised NBC News in March 2025. “But, I mean, I basically tell them we have a long way to go, you know, it’s very early in the administration.”
That identical month, Trump ally Steve Bannon stated he and others have been “working” to get Trump a 3rd time period.
“I’m a firm believer that President Trump will run and win again in 2028,” Bannon advised NewsNation in March 2025. “We’ve had greater long shots than Trump 2028.”
