The National Assembly instantly rejected, with out shock, Thursday April 2, the constitutional reform venture aimed toward reforming the standing of New Caledonia.

Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu reacted by promising that his authorities would take its “responsibilities”, and would settle for “neither inaction nor forced passage”.

This reform venture, presupposed to mirror the Bougival settlement supported by a number of political forces in New Caledonia however rejected by the principle independence motion, was rejected by the opposition teams by way of a rejection movement as quickly because it entered the hemicycle (190 votes in opposition to 107).
