Eight youngsters have been killed in a mass capturing in Louisiana following a “domestic disturbance,” police stated Sunday morning.
The youngsters have been aged between 1 and 14, in keeping with police spokesperson Christopher Bordelon of the Shreveport Police Department.
Some of the kids killed have been associated to the suspect, Bordelon stated throughout a press convention from the scene.
In complete, 10 individuals have been shot.
Bordelon stated the suspected shooter fled in a stolen car and was fatally shot by police throughout a chase in Bossier City.
“This is an extensive scene unlike anything most of us have ever seen,” Bordelon stated.
Shreveport police chief Wayne Smith stated he was “taken aback” by the horrifying capturing.
“My heart goes out to this entire community for the tragic event that has taken place this morning,” Smith stated. “I just don’t know what to say. My heart is just taken aback. I just cannot begin to imagine how such an event can occur.”
“This is a tragic situation, maybe the worst tragic situation we’ve ever had,” Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux added. “It’s a terrible morning in Shreveport.”
Police stated they have been nonetheless gathering particulars concerning the crime scene and Louisiana State Police can also be investigating.
