SINGAPORE — Chinese authorities say they’ve banned Meta’s acquisition of Manus AI, a man-made intelligence firm based in China — taking Beijing’s most aggressive step but to stanch the lack of AI expertise and sources to the United States and possibly setting off a sophisticated authorized and political combat.
