An Australian invoice offered on Tuesday April 28 needs to pressure tech giants Meta, Google and TikTok to enter into agreements with native media to remunerate them.
“Platforms that choose not to enter into commercial agreements with news media will have to pay an amount calculated in proportion to their turnover, and the amounts collected will be redistributed to the news media sector,” Prime Minister Anthony Albanese mentioned in an announcement.
