A aircraft carrying Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez made an emergency touchdown in Türkiye on Sunday night resulting from technical issues. This was introduced by the Madrid authorities. Sanchez was touring to Armenia to attend a gathering of the European Political Community (PEC) when the breakdown occurred.
Sanchez was headed to Yerevan, Armenia, when the plane was compelled to land within the Turkish capital. No additional particulars on the character or severity of the fault have been launched.
“The Spanish delegation will spend the night in Ankara before resuming the journey to Armenia tomorrow morning,” reads a press release from the Spanish authorities launched on Sunday night.
