Former Prime Minister of the Soviet Union Nikoli Rizhkov (1985-1991) died in Moscow on the age of 94, the president of the Russian Senate reported this Wednesday, Valentina Matviyenko.

“An extraordinary and kind man has passed away, Nikoli Ivnovich Rizhkov. He was a man who marc a little,” wrote Matviyenko on Telegram.

He added that Rizhkov, who was a senator between 2003 and 2023, at all times cared “in the most sincere way about his work and the results” of it.
