Discovering "Black Paris" : When the Light City was a lighthouse for black artists | EUROtoday
In the post-war Paris, artists and intellectuals from Africa, the Caribbean and the Americas discovered themselves within the Light City, with the intention to discover the black id. This is the time of “Paris Black”, named after an eponymous exhibition, which is at present being held on the Center Pompidou, in Paris. It retraces the presence of 150 African, African-American and Caribbean artists within the Light metropolis through the second half of the twentieth century. In this program, we take you within the footsteps of “Paris Black” and to satisfy modern artists, worthy heirs of that point.
